Research

I am trained as a historian, but I work as a hands-on researcher — combining archives, fieldwork, and direct encounters with people and places. For more than 20 years, I have been researching historical stories from the early 20th century to the present — often uncovering forgotten lives and connections across Europe.

My work combines archival research, oral history, and investigative storytelling. I trace family histories, search for lost relatives and connections, work in archives across countries, and record testimonies of witnesses.

This research has led to books, exhibitions, educational programmes, and documentary projects — including long-term work on Czech Jewish refugees in Denmark and my research on Franz Kafka.

I collaborate on research projects for institutions, filmmakers, and individuals — helping to uncover stories, trace connections, and develop historical narratives.

I don't just research history — I work with people who lived it
